now you too can fly

  • Is this flight a flight lesson?
Yes! Your instructor will introduce you the basics of flying as if you were getting your pilot's licence. The Pilot for a Day flight can be credited towards flight training if you decide to get your pilot's licence.
  • How early and where should I arrive for the Pilot for a Day experience?
Please arrive on time for your ground lesson. Your instructor will be waiting for you at our Training Centre. All of our Pilot for a Day flights depart from the Abbotsford International Airport in Abbotsford, BC. Our location is at: 30490 Liberator Ave, Abbotsford, BC V2T 6H5 Enter that into any map app on your phone and it will take you right to us.
  • Can I bring someone along for the ride?
Yes! Feel free to invite a friend (max. weight 220 lbs), for an additional cost of $60.
  • Will we be still able to go if it's raining or there's bad weather?
Weather is a tricky one sometimes, and while in other parts of Vancouver the weather is good (or bad), the weather in Abbotsford may be the complete opposite. Flying is our business, so the decision to cancel or postpone a flight doesn’t come easy. The Flight Instructor will make the final call as to whether or not the Pilot of the Day flight will happen and will be the best judge of conditions. The Flight Instructor will only cancel the flight if the weather is deemed to jeopardize the safety of the flight. If your flight is cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule you for a time of your choosing.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
You can read more about our Cancellation Policy by clicking here.
  • What are your payment methods?
We accept payment for flights via and accept all major credit cards. We also take credit/debit card payment at our location, or over the phone.
  • Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit, however, any participant under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult and/or have a parent or guardian sign a waiver on their behalf.
  • Which aircraft will you be using for the Pilot of a Day flight?
You will be at the controls of one of our Cessna 172s, a four-seater single piston engine aircraft.
  • Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, prior to the flight, everybody will be required to sign a liability waiver. For participants under the age of 18, a parent or guardian is required to sign on their behalf. If you do not wish to sign the waiver, your flight will be cancelled (see cancellation policy).
  • Why do you occasionally ask for my body weight?
We will sometimes request your body weight to most accurately fulfill Transport Canada Safety Regulations and to reduce the chance that a flight is overbooked due to the aircraft being loaded above safe parameters.
  • What happens during the Pilot of the Day flight?
The Flight Instructor will guide you through the operations of the aircraft, including the taxi and take-off. You can choose different destinations to fly to before hand, such us the Sumas Valley or the Vancouver Area. The Flight Instructor will demonstrate some air exercices that pilots in training need to master for the completition of their training. You will assist the Flight Instructor on completing check-lists, and approaching to Abbotsford for landing.
